What the free plan includes, how Zapier counts tasks, and when 100 a month stops being enough, checked against Zapier's pricing page on November 2, 2026.

Zapier's free plan costs $0 and includes 100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps made of two steps (a trigger and one action), and trigger checks every 15 minutes. Premium apps are not included. Paid Professional starts from $19.99 a month with multi-step Zaps and 2 minute checks, and new accounts get a 14-day Professional trial with no credit card required.
Free plan, 100 tasks a month. The 14-day Professional trial needs no credit card, per Zapier.
| Plan | Starting price | Zap steps | Trigger check | Our read |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Professional | From $19.99 per month | Multi-step | 2 minutes | When you need more than one action per Zap or faster triggers |
| Team | From $69 per month | Multi-step | 1 minute | Shared use, up to 25 users per Zapier |
Zapier does not tie a task count to each paid plan on its pricing page; the task selector runs from 100 to 2 million tasks a month. Annual billing is listed as saving 33%. Source: Zapier pricing page, checked November 2, 2026. We have not tested the plans ourselves.

Zapier's help article says a task is any successful action that runs in Zapier. Trigger steps are not counted, and neither are Filter, Paths, Formatter and Delay steps, test runs in the editor, or actions that error or halt. On the free plan a Zap has one trigger and one action, so each successful run uses one task.
Our arithmetic, for a 30 day month: a free Zap that runs 3 times a day uses about 90 tasks. One that runs every day at 4 runs or more passes 100. A Zap that fires on every new form entry uses as many tasks as you get entries, so 100 form submissions a month would use the whole allowance by themselves.
Because the free plan checks triggers every 15 minutes, a new event can wait up to 15 minutes before the Zap runs. Professional lists 2 minutes and Team lists 1 minute.
Zapier's help article says that for plans without pay-per-task billing, Zapier holds new Zap runs once you reach the task limit. Held runs resume when your billing cycle resets, you upgrade, or you turn on pay-per-task billing, and Zapier emails you at 80% and 100% of the limit. The article does not describe the free plan specifically, so check how this applies to your account before you rely on it for anything time sensitive.
It is enough if you have a handful of simple two-step automations that fire a few times a day, such as saving a form response to a spreadsheet. Move up when you need more than one action in a Zap, premium apps, faster trigger checks, or more than about 100 successful actions a month.
